Manhattan Beach, Oregon
In my opinion, Oregon beaches are best appreciated in the winter. Since you can't ever really swim in the ocean waters without freezing and summer brings the crowds and traffic, I think a winter trip to the coast has few downsides. The low sun offers steep, picturesque shadows along the empty sand. Not that this sweet spot along the Oregon Coast is ever very crowded. Manhattan Beach is hidden along Hwy 101 between Nehalem Bay and Rockaway Beach. There isn't much nearby-- no tourist attractions or anything like that-- but this beach does offer a seemingly endless expanse of pristine sand and ocean horizon.
