Alas, through a little luck and a lotta motivation we made it to Provence this afternoon, to be greeted at the train station enthusiastically by none other than my Provence-bound Mom. To save money we woke up at 4am in Venice, took the public bus, got to the station at 5am and took the earliest, cheapest train possible. Then we had 3 connections before arriving in Nice, France. From there, my Mom drove us 2.5 hours to Mane, France where we are house-sitting for her friend Anne. We are in much need of a vacation from this vacation. We are exhausted, broke, overwhelmed and completely saturated with Europe and other various travel and engagement emotions. Here we will enjoy the peace and quiet of a true French house to all to ourselves in rural Provence for the next 6 days--- a wonderful way to spend basking in our newly engaged glow.
I will be updating this blog with our recent Venetian adventures that I didn't get a chance to post.
Loves,
Steph and Phil.
