This morning we were able to use a washing machine in our hostel for free to do some laundry. We've never been so thrilled for a free load of laundry. In Rome, doing 3 loads cost us 27 euros, or about 40 US dollars. Meep!
Also, there are soooo many pizzerias in Italy. Like, more than there are coffee places in the US. We had to scour the town to find anything resembling American food this week. There are, however, delicious Kebab shops.
In other news, we have officially hit museum overload. All the travel books said it would happen and, yes, it does exist. If I have to visit another museum or tourist site I think I will barf. Seeing David and the huge Duomo here pushed us to our peak. Luckily, there isn't much else to see that is like that. We will be going to Venice and then Provence where it's more about the beauty of the surrounding area and the quality of life.
The clothing here is amazing, and much cheaper than back home. Still can't afford it, but it's wonderful to window shop. Today I bought Phil's birthday presents... in less than a week we will be celebrating his 28th birthday in Provence. Yay!
Florence, Italy from Michelangelo Palazzo

Our dorm mate, Luka, an art student from Walnut Creek, CA gave us the tip that led us to this breathtaking vista of Florence. Look at how the Duomo dominates the cityscape!!! Amazing. One of the most beautiful sites of our trip, for sure.
